Angles-sur-l'Anglin
The village of Angles-sur-l'Anglin (12km) has a rich heritage which has enabled it to meet the membership criteria of the association "The most beautiful villages of France". Its castle, perched on a promontory, offers one of the most beautiful viewpoints in the department. Animations around the Middle Ages are offered in the village. Ethni’Cité, a troglodyte village nestled in the cliffs of Saint Rémy sur Creuse, overlooks the Creuse valley. The site has inspired history enthusiasts grouped together in an association since the 1990s.
The history of the royal city of Loches will fascinate you: built on the banks of the Indre, this unique monument covering a thousand years of history, is defended by its 36 m high keep built in the 10th century and considered today as one of the best preserved from the Romanesque period in Europe.
Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Loire Valley has some of France's finest treasures.
