Our environment
Nestled in lush greenery, in the heart of Poitou, La Roche-Posay offers a real bubble of restorative well-being in a rejuvenating nature conducive to the balance of body and mind. It is in this preserved environment that the thermal water takes its source.
Nestled in a beautiful luxuriant setting in the heart of the Poitou region, La Roche-Posay offers such comfort and wellbeing that both mind and body can relax. It is in this well-maintained environment that our thermal water has its source. La Roche-Posay thermal spring water is drawn from a protected catchment area at a depth of 30 to 80 metres, as a result of slow percolation through the Turonian chalky bedrock.
An alchemy of mineral salts and trace elements makes La Roche-Posay thermal spring water the core of our care and expertise. Naturally rich in Selenium, a trace element with remarkable anti-oxidant properties, it offers immediate soothing and anti-irritant action. It repairs, relieves and soothes skin that is has been damaged by dermatitis, psoriasis or cancer treatments.
La Roche-Posay Thermal Water: a real marvel of nature with proven therapeutic properties.
The 20-hectare thermal park is beautifully landscaped with French gardens surrounding the Pink Pavilion (Le Pavillon Rose). It holds the Thermal Baths (les Thermes du Connétable), the Spa Source and the workshop and boutique space, Le Pavillon des Sources. Whether you’re alone or in a group, you can enjoy a wide range of activities in addition to your treatment: practising relaxation therapy, taking walks in nature, discovering the heritage and the local area...
The park is home to a large part of the thermal water supply. Here is where the water supply networks feeds the thermal baths. There are 9 emergence points that are used to collect the thermal water, and they are spread out around a protected area of the Connétable Thermal baths. The sustainability and safeguarding of the thermal baths aswell as their therapeutic virtues, is guaranteed by a declaration of public interest (DPI). This declaration is in the interest of both the patients and the resort, and meets environmental standards.
